Yes on Prop. 7 Chair Jim Gonzalez vs. Former Southern California Edison
Project Manager Assemblyman Hector de la Torre
Californians for Solar and Clean Energy, sponsors of Prop. 7, today announced that
its proponent and campaign chair, Jim Gonzalez, would debate Assemblyman
Hector De La Torre on Wednesday, Oct. 1, on Univision's widely watched "Voz y
Voto" program. Prop. 7 requires that 50% of all electricity used in California after
2025 be from solar and clean energy sources.

The Big Utilities' Deceptive TV Ad Campaign
Last night, in a KGO-AM News Talk Radio 810 interview on the Karel program, Ralph
Cavanagh, a No on 7 spokesman, broke ranks with his PG&E and Southern California Edison
allies and stated, "If we can get to 50% renewable, we'll have lower costs."

Californians for Solar and Clean Energy, sponsors of Prop. 7, today announced that
the Mid-Town North Hollywood Neighborhood Council has voted to support the
renewable energy standards for utilities proposition. Prop. 7 requires that 50% of
all electricity used in California after 2025 be from solar and clean energy sources.

has voted enthusiastically to back the renewable energy standards for utilities

Proposition 7: Clean energy for California
The Times' editorial board has long touted, much to my pleasure, the urgent need
to transition to a renewable energy future. Although I often agree with The Times
on energy issues, I strongly disagree with the editorial board's position on
Proposition 7, the Solar and Clean Energy Act of 2008.

THREE NOBEL PRIZE WINNERS ANNOUNCE
SUPPORT FOR PROPOSITION 7
Today, in a letter sent to the Union of Concerned Scientists, Natural Resources
Defense Council, the Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Technology,
the California Solar Energy Industries Association, the California Wind Energy
Association, GreenVolts, Inc., and Optisolar, Inc., three Nobel Prize Laureates
endorsed Proposition 7, The Solar and Clean Energy Act, and urged the Prop. 7 opponents to drop their opposition.

PUC FINES PROP. 7 OPPONENT $30 MILLION:
The California Public Utilities Commission, by a unanimous vote today, found that
for seven years, Southern California Edison's, "employees and management
manipulated and submitted false customer satisfaction data... and false and
misleading health and safety data..." Based upon these findings, the CPUC ordered
Southern California Edison to pay a $30 million fine within 30 days; and to refund
to ratepayers $80,714,000 within one year.

Proposition 7 Works!
The Office of the President of the University of California has released a report
identifying 3,600 potentially developable renewable energy projects in California
and surrounding regions with a generating capacity of 500,000 megawatts, or six
times the currently installed electric generation capacity in California. The report,
entitled "Renewable Energy Transmission Initiative - Draft Resource Report" also identified 58 Competitive Renewable Energy Zones in and around California.
